This doesn't have to be your career — plenty of great contributors do this on the side of something else entirely. It should, though, be something you enjoy.

Ambassador

The difference is simple: Professional membership is what you receive. Ambassador is what you've given.

If you pay your dues, come to events, and use what membership offers — that's Professional, and it's a complete membership on its own.

If you've also contributed something — joined a team or workstream, completed a project, given a resource that helps the chapter — that's Ambassador.

Common Questions

Do I need experience to get involved?

No formal application, no resume required. What we're looking for is fit — someone who's actually good at the work and enjoys it. Plenty of members discover a knack for something here they never got to use at their day job.

Does a one-time project qualify me for Ambassador level consideration?

Yes. Recognition isn't a point system based on hours logged — it's the board noticing that you followed through on something real. Joining a team is ideal, but a single project well done does qualify you for Ambassador level consideration.

Am I locked into a full commitment once I join a team?

We ask for a real commitment once you say yes to something — not because we're strict, but because unfinished commitments leave real gaps for other people to cover. All team members work in the industry, are working around busy schedules, and understand the need to be flexible.

Do I have to give back to be a member?

No. Professional membership stands on its own — access to the Client Service team, your place in the directory, event and ADDYs pricing, no strings attached. Giving back is for members who want more than that, and when we get a request for connection that matches what you do, you'll be at the top of our list to contact.

Is Corporate membership worth it for my company?

The real value isn't the discount: it's professional development your team can use directly at work, team-building outside the office, leadership and strategy experience, networking with potential clients and talent, and your company named as a corporate partner. Any seat-holder can also give back individually and earn Ambassador recognition on their own.
