The Advertising Club of Toledo/AAF Toledo - Greater Toledo Community Foundation Fund was established in 2001.

Description

To provide annual scholarships for students pursuing a communication, marketing, public relations or related degree at The University of Toledo or Bowling Green State University (or another accredited university or college in Ohio or Michigan) who will be full-time (as defined by the institution) college undergraduate or graduate students. Scholarship recipients may re-apply in subsequent years. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

It is anticipated that at least two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in early May. Finalists may be interviewed. Recipients will be introduced at the AAF Toledo June program.

How the year runs
Application Period

Opens in November via the Greater Toledo Community Foundation scholarship portal.

Deadline

February 11 to upload all required documents.

Review & Decisions

Applications are reviewed in March, committee meetings happen in April, and final decisions are sent out by May 15.

Payout

Paid directly to your post-secondary school in late July after you submit an enrollment verification

Greater Toledo Community Foundation

In existence since 1973, the Foundation has more than 950 funds with assets of approximately $400 million. Requirements

The criteria used for selection of scholarship recipients include consideration of the following:

Scholastic aptitude and prior academic achievement (GPA of 3.0 or above);

Individual motivation, ability and potential;

Letters of Recommendation;

Intent to pursue a degree in communications, marketing, public relations or related degree;

Extra curricular activities such as clubs, internships, work/study programs (required attachment);

Interest in pursuing your professional career in the greater Toledo area.
