October Lunch & Learn

October 16, 2019

11:30 am - 1:30 pm

The Premier - 4480 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, OH 43614

Come learn about the fast growing and changing OTT space. Explore the different types of content and how to target audiences using different capabilities in the streaming space. Find out why not all video is created equal.

Mike Kartson has 13+ years of digital marketing experience, currently serving as the Sr. Manager of Advanced Advertising for Spectrum Reach. Prior to joining Spectrum he spent a decade working at Fathom, a digital marketing agency in Cleveland, Ohio. While there he focused on account management and solutions consulting across verticals like education, healthcare, and financial services. His early career was focused in Financial Services, working at KeyBank and JP Morgan Chase. He is a John Carroll graduate and currently resides in suburban Cleveland.  When he isn't working he enjoys Cleveland sports, trying new restaurants, and streaming TV.

What are Over-the-top (OTT) services?
Here’s what you should know:

  • OTT is a service used to stream TV onto a computer, tablet, smartphone, or any other internet-connected device.
  • OTT is available through apps and websites such as Netflix or Hulu and physical hardware like Amazon Fire Stick or Apple TV.
  • OTT is gaining in popularity because the devices are built into most newer television sets, making them convenient and easy to use.
  • OTT providers offer original content, and consumers can save money if they’re willing to give up live shows and events.

There is a shift from watching only “traditional” TV to stacked services, but it’s not as rapid as you may think. And it’s definitely not an all-or-nothing battle between the two.
