Local agencies in the Toledo area hone their skills throughout the year to deliver the highest quality creative for their clients. Each year, AAF hosts a special night to recognize and celebrate the best of the best.
The ADDYs will take place on Thursday, February 23, 2017. But what exactly goes into the one-night event? A lot more than you may think.
Founded in 1960, the ADDYs were adopted by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), a not-for-profit industry association, as a national competition in 1968. But did you know Toledo has a rich history of recognizing great creative? Our organization has been hosting the ADDYS in Toledo for many years, with talented Toledoans bringing ideas to life in print, media, and video production as all local agencies have the opportunity for a shot at Gold.

Judges include a new panel each year of three or four creative professionals from outside the Toledo market. The judges are hand-selected from a pool of successful marketing professionals from around the area. With understanding the market as an important piece of the judging selection by AAF Toledo, each judge is chosen to bring a fresh perspective with their eye for design and execution. And because they are creatives themselves, they understand the passion and perseverance it takes to get the perfect final product.
During the evaluation process, the chosen panel reviews printed collateral and digital clips to pinpoint the “it” factor. Each judge gives an entry a score and based on the average overall score is how an entry is selected as Gold, Silver or Bronze. Each judge may also award a Judge's Choice based on the piece they liked the most (based off no certain criteria).
Once it comes time to reveal the winners, the judges are proud to stand behind their choices. They represent the entry, featured in videos throughout the night announcing the winners and why they chose them, with the entire night hosted and MC’ed by AAF Toledo.
But the support does not end there. AAF continues involvement in the process from a district and national level. All local Gold ADDY award entries are automatically forwarded to the District 5 competition, with AAF Toledo covering the entry fee. If an agency wins a District 5 Gold ADDY, AAF D5 then sponsors the forwards to Nationals. So at a Local, District, and National level, you have a whole club behind you.

If selected for an ADDY, not only do you get bragging rights for an entire year within the northwest Ohio advertising community, you are gifted with a fancy piece of hardware that signifies your team's dedication. Colleagues, clients, and customers are sure to be impressed at the prestige that comes with winning one, and you may even reach national success.
Tickets - $50 each or 10 for $450 (students $30)

5:30 - Doors open for entry viewing, dinner, cash bar, and music provided by: NOT FAST ENÜFF
5:30-6:45 - Mardi Gras inspired dinner by Georgio's
