No way, it’s November?!? Public service announcement: please fight the urge to put up your Christmas tree. There’s so many great things happening this month, and we don’t want you to miss them by jumping ahead!
Last month we had a great Lunch and Learn thanks to our 2019 Corporate Sponsor, Spectrum Reach, and our 2018-2019 Series Sponsor, PromoHits. Mike Kartson of Spectrum Reach filled us in on the differences in video advertising now that so many people are using OTT. (That’s a cool term we can throw around now since Mike educated us.) The Lunch and Learn committee will be taking a few months off, but stay tuned for some great programming in 2020.
Our Internship Eventis almost here! You may have noticed our recruiters have taken over our Instagram (@AAFToledo). We are so excited to team up with Press Club of Toledo and PRSA of Northwest Ohio on Saturday, November 9th to give students the chance to network with professionals and prospective employers. If you’re a student and haven’t registered, what are you waiting for? The event is FREE for students and could be the day that kicks off your future advertising career. I know it’s early on a Saturday, but as the age-old saying goes, the early bird gets the internship.
Speaking of education, we’re really focused on student member recruitment this year. If you are an educator, we’d love to send you some handouts or schedule a brief presentation on all things Student AAF and Student ADDYs. If that sounds good to you, reach out to Darcie at email@example.com. The ADDY call for entries is just around the corner, and we’d love to get the student submissions in before they go on hiatus for the holidays.
Also this month, we’ve moved up Our Favorite Things from its usual December date so that you can make your shopping list (and check it twice) BEFORE Black Friday. Register now for the event on Thursday, November 21st. We have an exciting line up of local vendors iincluding Suburban Bottle, Riverfront Candle, Three Girlz Urban Living, Copper Moon Studios, NoonDay Collection, Bartz Viviano, Printed on a Lark, Toledo Spirits, Swatch Photobooth and more! On top of raffles, goodie bags and a cash bar, you can purchase from the vendors right there on site! We’re still looking for some Santa’s helpers to donate goodie bag items. If you’re interested, let Darcie know.
