Tickets are now on sale for the annual American Advertising Federation - Toledo’s (AAF Toledo) ADDY Awards ceremony on Thursday, February 22 at the historic Valentine Theatre in downtown Toledo. The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with entry viewing, buffet dinner, cash bar, and acoustic music by NOT FAST ENÜFF. Award presentation begins at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $50 each or ten for $450. The ADDYs are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting over 40,000 entries every year in local Advertising Club competitions. The annual ADDY Awards hosted by AAF Toledo are the first of a three-tier, national competition. Concurrently, across the country, local entrants vie to win ADDY Awards – recognition as the very best in their markets. At the second tier, local ADDY winners compete against winners from other local clubs in one of 15 district competitions. District ADDY winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the national stage of the American Advertising Awards. Entry in the AAF Toledo ADDY Awards is the first step toward winning a national ADDY.
The AAF Toledo ADDY Awards recognize and showcase Northwest Ohio’s best creative talent in a wide variety of categories from outdoor advertising to sound, video and print elements. New for 2018, the AAF Toledo Board of Governors and the Committee on Diversity and Inclusion are proud to announce the addition of the AAF Toledo Mosaic Awards. The AAF Toledo Mosaic Awards recognize companies, agencies and individuals whose commitment to diversity and inclusion is evident through their creative work. The recipients have embraced advanced marketing techniques and business practices and have developed diversity programs that not only help improve the bottom line, but also secure a relevant role in a continuously evolving corporate environment.
The most prestigious award of the evening is the Silver Medal Award which recognizes men and women who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry's standards, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern. Nominations are reviewed by a committee of three previous Silver Medal Award winners and the Silver Medal Award is presented during the ADDY award ceremony.
Nearly 200 professional and student entries were received from agencies, businesses, and individuals in the Toledo area market. A four-member judging panel of advertising experts selected the award winners. This judging panel included Kacha Azéma, Executive Creative Director at Skidmore Studio in Detroit; Roger Frank, Managing Partner/Creative Director at Little Jacket in Dayton; Andy Kittles, Senior Art Director at The Ohlmann Group in Dayton; and Kim Oermann, Creative Director at Moncur in Detroit.
The ADDY Awards Competition is sponsored by the American Advertising Federation - Toledo, a nonprofit association of advertising and media professionals. Proceeds from the ADDY Awards help support AAF Toledo’s educational programs and public service projects.
