A New Chapter of AAF Toledo

For a long time, belonging to a professional association meant showing up to events and hoping the right conversation happened. Sometimes it did. More often, you had a good time, met some familiar faces, and went home without anything you couldn't have gotten from scrolling LinkedIn for twenty minutes.

We know this because we lived it.

AAF Toledo has been around for over a hundred years. Before social media, just being in the same room was enough to foster connection. But the room is virtual now, and a million exist. What's rare now is someone actually working on your behalf. Someone you can call when you need a speaker or freelancer and they know exactly who. When a student is trying to land their first position and someone makes the introduction that changes everything.

That's what we're building.

What Changed, And Why

This didn't come from a board meeting or a strategic plan. It came from listening.

We surveyed ourselves and the people who came to our events. The people who showed up, had a good time, and went home without anything they couldn't have gotten on their own. The answers were consistent. A speaker. A job. A client. A freelancer. An introduction to someone specific at the right moment. Not another event. Not another happy hour. Someone working on their behalf.

Every request that comes to AAF Toledo goes through one front door — our Client Service team — and gets routed to the right person. But we're not just waiting for requests. Our team is actively scanning the community for relevant events and lucrative opportunities to put in front of members before they know to ask.
